STOKE City striker James Beattie has targeted 100 Premier League goals after returning to the top flight with 19 still to score.

And Stoke's latest signing reckons he is hitting top form after putting his career back on track at Sheffield United over the past 18 months.

The 30-year-old, who penned a two-and-a-half year deal in a £3.5m deal, says: "I was sure I was always going to get back into the Premier League one way or another."

So rather than writing daft comments on here, please get back to your Daily Star brain train and if you don't mind, unless its about Stoke City FC, don't address me on here again. Thanks”

“Paul R Moston, I see you are trying to be a steward even though you cannot manage a days work. If you do get the job, put a badge on with your name, I am sure there is one or two on here who would like to meet you...!
Also just done an anagram of your name - slum port vale.!”

“If TP cannot see that Cresswell is NOT prem class then something is amiss. He runs with the ball when he should pass it....he hardly brings other players into the game..and he needs more time to make his decisions - which you can't afford to do at this level. He claimed he was a striker and has not scored a goal - the Delap 'off the bar' chance came to him - should he have scored ? it was a poachers chance...he failed to react quickly enough. Kitson will get goals - he is getting into position and needs game time - he will deliver. TP has a few options now to play with lets see how he juggles them to get the best from ALL. Fuller as an impact sub sounds plausible. We musty though find that diamond in the rough midfield playmaker....anyone know of any with huge gambling or businessdebts - please make them known ASAP”

“OK thanks for that Andy from Normacot. Be interesting to see what the ratio is, I'm just looking forward to seeing him play, hopefully ethrington can swing some nice balls in for him to get on the end of.It will be interesting to see who goes during the window.
on another note, hayden your remarks about Pericard are a little harsh, I think a couple of goals from him will set him away - he is better than that bleedin carthorse cresswell.I think it has to be players like him that TP will be thinking of shipping out. Perhaps that Derby fan who was on here last week who want him.”
