STUDENTS will be given help in deciding what to do after leaving college.

Newcastle College is hosting its second annual Next Steps Week, which runs until Friday.

The highlight of the week will is tomorrow's Next Steps Fair, where students can get advice on careers, further and higher education courses, apprenticeships, volunteering and gap years.

Learner participation co-ordinator Lynsey Shearsmith said: "As students approach the end of their course they need solid information, advice and guidance to help them plan their next steps.

"Our aim is to let students know about options available to them, so they can make informed, responsible choices."

Undergraduates from local universities will also be coming into the college to give advice and guidance to students during tutorials.
