BUS timetable screens and extra shelters are part of improvements soon to be unveiled at Stoke Station.

The changes are part of a national pilot scheme which aims to boost numbers of train passengers arriving at stations by bus, bike or foot, as well as increasing overall passenger numbers.

As well as improved bus facilities, there will also be:

Better travel and map information for travelling to and from the station;

City-wide cycling promotion and extra space for bikes at the station; and

In the longer term, a complete rearrangement of the front of the station for better public transport access.

Stoke is one of 24 stations involved in the national pilot, coordinated by The Association of Train Operating Companies and supported by the Department for Transport. Plans are backed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Virgin Trains.
