STAN and deliver! Since making a big impact at the Edinburgh Fringe 2003, Stan Stanley, pictured, has become a firm favourite on the comedy circuit. And he headlines the next Stand-Up-At-The-Swan on Thursday March 4.

In 2004, Stan was invited to perform in the prestigious Britcom Show at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. His appearance was so successful that the festival extended his stay.

A prolific writer, Stan has also written sketches for radio and television including two series of Man Stroke Woman for BBC3 and Parsons And Naylor's Big Pullout section for Radio 4.

Stan is joined by David Whitney, who ponders on everything from dating to religion, and Dan Bland. North Staffordshire comic Andrew Swanson completes the line-up.

Derby based comedian Pete Smith is the night's guest compere, although regular host John Woodhouse promises a "minor contribution".
