Staffordshire Police dog finds thief in a bush after failed Bentilee theft

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for attempted theft after he was found hiding under a bush by a police dog.

Officers were called to Wellfield Road, Bentilee, just before 2.10am this morning, after a resident disturbed the offender, who was trying to take a quad bike from his garden.

The offender had escaped into surrounding gardens but was found hiding under a bush by PC Jamie McArthur and his police dog Harley.

The arrested man remains in police custody for questioning.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said they believe there may have been more than one offender and appealed for anyone with information to come forward by contacting DC Dave Mullington on 101, quoting incident number 30 of November 14.
