Stafford Hospital scandal: Two nurses due before Nursing and Midwifery Council
TWO nurses working at Stafford Hospital at the time of a recent scandal are to appear before the Nursing and Midwifery Council in London today.
Tracy Ann White and Sharon Tracey Turner have been accused of trying to break rules and treating patients inappropriately.
Their appearances come in the wake of the Francis Report, which condemned an 'insidious negative culture' at Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust- the organisation behind the running of Stafford Hospital.
The scandal, which has been dubbed the biggest in the history of the NHS, led to hundreds of unnecessary deaths at the hospital between 2005 and 2008.
