CUP OF CHEER: Dozens of lucky customers were handed a series of special surprises during a pottery firm's sale.

Emma Bridgewater, in Lichfield Street, gave the first 50 customers a gold envelope, each containing a prize.

One of the envelopes contained a special Golden Ticket, which gave the holder £100 to spend in the factory shop, as well as a unique gold spotted mug.

There was also a silver and bronze ticket, giving the holder £50 and £25 spend.

Shop assistant manager Amanda Malley, aged 43, said: "There was a queue when we opened the shop at 9.30am and everyone was really excited about the promotion.

"The lady who found the gold ticket was really pleased because the mug is only one of two that has been made so it's really special."

Laura Mupasi, aged 23, who works in the decorating studio, is pictured with the gold spotted mug.
