Spacious four bed family home has a price reduction
B UILT just five years ago and a year before current owners, Graham and Gill Burnett moved in, this property at 75, Chillington Drive, Norton Heights, is one of just five such designs on the estate.
What makes them unusual is that the four bedrooms are all double size rooms and the master one has an en suite shower room too.
In fact, all the rooms seem bigger than the norm and certainly there is a feeling of spaciousness throughout the house.
Gill says: "We wanted a four bedroom house because we have a large family and so lots of people come to stay, and when we saw this we were very surprised at how big all the bedrooms are.
"We just took one look and thought 'This is it.'"
Recently reduced to just below £200,000, the house is in superb condition throughout.
It is quiet and not immediately overlooked at either the front or back and there is a large grass parking area a few yards away.
The large lounge has a nice gas fire and a useful storage cubby hole concealed under the stairs, and there is an archway separating it from the dining room.
Again, this is a spacious room in its own right but the combination of it and the lounge create a real feeling of space when you first walk in.
At the back the dining room has a pair of French doors through which you can walk out onto the patio area.
The big, modern fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric double oven and ceramic hob and extractor hood, has laminate flooring and a breakfast table.
Alongside that is a separate utility room with all the necessary plumbing for an automatic washing machine and plenty of cupboard space, a door to the back garden and also a little cloakroom and WC. Again, it is a good sized room and very useful if you have just come in from the garden.
Upstairs are the four double or twin bedrooms, one of which is currently used as a study, and with the master room having its own en suite – "it has a power shower, not just a normal one'', says Graham – plus a big main bathroom, it makes the house very flexible if you have either children or guests staying over. There is more storage space on the landing and access to the loft.
Outside there is plenty of room for parking on the driveway at the front and behind in the back garden there is a patio area and some lawn too. The house also has a decent sized garage, 18 feet long and eight wide, with an up-and-over door and it is wired for light and power too.
Graham and Gill say they are only putting the house on the market because they want to move back to Sussex, where they came from, but say they will miss the house and the area.
Graham says: "This is such a handy place to live with great access via Leek Road to Hanley and the rest of Stoke-on-Trent one way and to Leek and the beautiful countryside of the Moorlands the other.
"It is a quiet spot on the estate and the house is unusual in terms of the size of its rooms.
"Only five of these designs were built on the estate and this one was the show home.
"As soon as we saw it four years ago we knew it was absolutely perfect for us and I know it will be perfect for another family too.''
