ELDERLY people can learn about the help and support available to them during an event next week.

The Staffordshire's Older People's Partnership Board will cover a range of topics relating to care when it meets on Thursday.

Representatives from Age UK North Staffordshire and Approach will be giving talks, and a free lunch will be provided.

Staffordshire county councillor Matthew Ellis, cabinet member for adults and wellbeing, said: "This session is an excellent way for older people to find out more about the array of high quality help and support that is available to them from a whole range of agencies across Staffordshire. "

Councillor Ellis added: "People are living longer than ever before and are keen to maintain their independence.

"The advice that they can get from the partnership board could prove to be priceless."

The free session will take place from 11am until 2pm.

It is being held at Staffordshire County Council's human resources centre in Second Avenue, Tillington, Stafford.

Anyone who would like to attend the event should call Nadine Baggaley on 07976 191331.
