FOOD FIGHT: There have been many comments about the University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) Trust and the food which is supplied by Sodexo.

I am currently residing in Wythenshawe Hospital's transplant ward, where I have lung cancer – the food is also supplied by Sodexo.

My food is no different than ordinary patients, except for the cooked breakfast.

We have a cooked meal for lunch with hot pudding and for tea we have soup – okay this is only just edible – but then we get another hot meal and hot pudding.

The food is lovely, so it's nothing to do with Sodexo.

Please do not angle your anger towards Sodexo for your shoddy, poor food while in hospital.

It is down to the trust and how much it is willing to pay per meal for you.

Bear in mind this is money you have paid in through tax and National Insurance payments.

The food here comes from the same place in Wales as that for the UHNS,but the University Hospital of South Manchester Trust is willing to put patient comfort before profit.

Incidentally, Sodexo also supplies food to all prisons.

Imagine if they are getting what I get, instead of what you get.

So, come to Manchester and try the food here and ask why yours is so totally different.
