SNOW and freezing conditions are set to hit Staffordshire this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in the region, which it says could last into the start of next week.

  1. Snow4

Forecasters say snow is likely to fall during the weekend as temperatures begin to drop ahead of an icy spell.

There is the potential for five to ten centimetres of snow on ground above 200 metres and between two and five centimetres at lower levels.

“FFDP1- good point why cant football be a summer sport.

What would the poor cricketers do? Soon as a cloud comes over head they run for cover and play is stopped haha.

I think football in the summer would be fantastic, there is some reason why it isnt so, but ive never really looked into it.”

    “Now i understand FFDP1 :) .

I do attend now and again, i was going to go with my daughter Saturday, now depending on the weather i will wait and see.
I know its a nightmare getting off Trentham Lakes, i dont bother take the car when i go, i get a taxi , saves all the hassle of trying to find somewhere to park and paying the ridiculous parking fees.

Fredthefib i see what you mean, but there are more and more families attending games now than any other time ive ever known, goodness knows how they afford it.
But you need to make it a nationwide thing about the pr*ts as this idiocy goes on all over the country it seems to of spread :)
I often think the same when you men dangling poles into water for hours on end and watching a little orange thing bob up and down, as this thing known as "angling" so i being is a bigger sport than football, and more people take part, and some are even known to stop out in tents all night, now that puts the words idiots and pr*ts well into context. Hope you have a great weekend indoors :)”

You wonder why 27,500 people who like football are idiots.
Well it's because they pay about £20 to watch 22 overpaid pr*ts kick a bag of wind about for ninety minutes in freezing weather when they could be at home in the warmth enjoying family life.”

“Johnlocker, I don't mind football, been known to attend the odd match myself, but anyone who would go out and attend any sporting event, apart from Skiing that is, in the snow is indeed an idiot. Problem was when this went on last year was idiots going to the match, and indeed trying to get home again. And can someone please explain to me why this Garbstoke fool felt the need to post such a strange statement.”

“Hope if the snow does come, it happens on Saturday and Sunday and is clear by Monday otherwise if there is even a small scattering the teachers will decide it is too dangerous and the schools will be closed.”

“Gerbstoke. Better idea. For a starter why not show willing and set an example by doing it yourself. It could be videoed and used as a training aid and put on the internet to inspire those of a younger age in society who often claim that there is nothing for them to do.”
