Sister left sad over holiday room fall-out
THE SISTER of a woman who made knife threats to a friend over a holiday to Turkey has spoken of her sadness at how a row got out of hand.
Marina Birks, aged 52, of Milner Terrace, Leek, had taken out a £500 loan to pay for a dream holiday with her sister Heather Dunn-Fox and family friend Helen England.

The sisters planned to sun themselves in Turkey along with Miss England in June.
But frictions soon began to surface between the prospective holidaymakers after only two double rooms were booked at their hotel.

A flurry of abusive texts and the threat of a stabbing then landed Miss Birks in front of Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
Mrs Dunn-Fox, aged 54, from Haregate, Leek, said: "As far as we were concerned we were all going to Turkey together.
"But we were never meant to be staying in the same place. Me and Helen have been friends for 30 years but I could not share a room with her so we went for separate rooms."
The sisters still plan to go on the holiday, although their elderly mother will now accompany Miss Birks and will take her seat on the plane.
Mrs Dunn-Fox said: "If we bump into them then we will just walk past.
"We wanted to just have a good holiday, and I am sad that is has got to this stage."
