Singers search for volunteer vocal coach
MEMBERS of a community group are hoping to get into fine voice after appealing for a singing coach.
The University of the Third Age, from Stoke-on-Trent South, would like to find a retired choir master or vocal coach to help them develop their skills after they set up a singing group.
Terry Hitchen, from Penkhull, is part of the group.
The 73-year-old said: "We started the singing group about six weeks ago and it is going really well.

"The only thing that is missing is a bit of direction and help with the vocals.
"Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to pay anyone for their time.
"But we hope someone out there may like to volunteer to come on board and help us develop."
The University of the Third Age (U3A) is open to retired people who share their skills to educate others in the group.
There are currently around 20 people who take part in the singing club, and they have had three sessions to date.
Terry said: "We would be very grateful if anyone would like to come and help.
"It would have to be more for their love of teaching, but we would welcome them into the group and hope to do them proud."
The singing sessions take place in Longton at the Central Hall Methodist Church.
They are held once every fortnight on a Thursday.
If anyone is interested in taking up the post, please contact group leader Gill Bond on 01782 333153.
Other activities include a discussion group, flower arranging and basic photography.
