Signs aim to boost trade
SIGNS are being put up to prove it is business as usual at an outdoor market, despite major restoration work.
The move comes after traders complained customers had been put off visiting Leek's market last Wednesday because they thought it was closed after hoardings were erected at the entrance.
Work on Market Place started last week and is expected to take 14 weeks.
Council leaders stress access to shops and the Butter Market will be guaranteed throughout the scheme.
Councillor Sybil Ralphs, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council leader, said: "We are working to allow business as usual for traders."
