Signal concert was an embarrassment

I, ALONG with many other people from Staffordshire, attended Signal's 25th Birthday Concert at Trentham Gardens on Saturday evening. Having arrived at 5.30pm, the time that the gates were supposed to be opened, we queued for two-and-a-half hours, eventually entering the gardens at 8pm and somehow managed to find a patch of mud in which to stand, despite the total darkness. Yet again, Signal Radio proved that they are unable to organise an event successfully. At no time was any explanation given and neither was any apology made. They should be grateful to the folk of Staffordshire for their patience, which in some quarters was beginning to wane.

To give Signal some credit, they managed to attract three artists who, despite all the technical problems they were faced with, were able to put on excellent performances. However, it was quite clear that all three were extremely unhappy – all making comments and their own apologies to the crowd for having to shorten their sets through no fault of their own. It was clear that they were as disappointed as the crowd with the evening's events.

To be honest, it was quite embarrassing to witness the shambolic organisation and on top of that the amateurish efforts of the so-called Signal presenters. Certainly I, and I am sure may others, will be contacting Signal for a refund as we certainly did not get to see the event that was advertised.

I have been to several concerts at Trentham Gardens, all of which have been organised meticulously – unfortunately Signal were unable to match these efforts and I am sure many people, along with myself, will be reluctant to pay hard-earned money to attend any future Signal events.
