Shelton cabbie blamed wife for penalty points
CABBIE Ehjaz Yaqub has been jailed after trying to avoid a driving ban by telling police his wife had been speeding in his taxi.
The 33-year-old filled in forms stating his wife was behind the wheel of his Vauxhall Vectra taxi when it was snapped by speed cameras.

Police later arrested Yaqub's wife on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
CCTV images then proved Yaqub was actually driving when the cameras were activated.

The father-of-two was yesterday jailed for 10 months – just days after disgraced former MP Chris Huhne and his ex-wife Vicky Pryce were both sent to prison for eight months for perverting the course of justice after swapping speeding points 10 years ago.
Jailing Yaqub, Judge Paul Glenn told Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court: "If you have read the papers or listened to the news you will know offences of this type are topical. They are also prevalent. They strike at the heart of the criminal justice system, and courts take a serious view.
"Your wife was not prosecuted but you jeopardised her liberty. The motive was plainly to avoid losing your driving licence and with it your income. You persistently offended in the same way to avoid criminal responsibility."
The court heard Yaqub's taxi was caught speeding through seven cameras between November 2011 and April 2012. Yaqub twice accepted the points – but on other occasions blamed his wife.
Neil Ahuja, prosecuting, said: "Notices were sent requesting details of the driver. He returned them stating he was not the driver but his wife was. Inquiries at the taxi base confirmed the defendant had been working at the time of the offences."
The court heard Yaqub's wife was released without charge.
Yaqub, of Beresford Street, Shelton, pleaded guilty to three charges of intending to pervert the course of justice. He was also banned from driving for six months.
Rachel Thompson, mitigating, said Yaqub had a £50,000 debt and was trying to avoid going bankrupt.
She warned the family could lose their house if Yaqub was jailed.
Ms Thompson said: "He ended up working considerable hours to try to obtain that money. In order to do that he did speed on occasions."
An AA survey of 17,000 drivers suggested around 300,000 motorists have swapped speeding penalty points.
AA president Edmund King said: "Many drivers didn't realise the severity of swapping penalty points but they do now. There is a harsh punishment for perverting the course of justice."

“@FFDP1
So, you idea of a "debate" is to tell someone they are wrong? Well, well. It appears that your true colours are emerging. You think that only your opinion can be right, everyone with a different though, idea or opinion is, in your mind, wrong!! Lol, sorry sonny boy, life doesn't work like that, and when you leave school and go out into the big wide world, you'll find that there will be people who agree with you, and those that don't.”

“What I find amazing is that -
1.) after 4 offences x 3 points, under totting up, his wife's license should have been revoked and she should have been in front of the beak. How come "she" was even able to speed for a fifth time with 12 points and a totting-up ban?
2.) What sort of retard can't see one speed camera, never mind seven of them? Here's a clue Ehjaz, they're bright yellow and normally situated in accident blackspots - unless, of course, you think you already have a get-out-of-jail-free card? God only knows how fast he was going where there were no cameras about!
3.) does taxi driving really pay that well you can expect to clear a £50,000 debt?
After you've paid income tax on it??
Really?
Perhaps I should give up my skilled technical job and take up taxi driving instead.
With income taxes coming in like this, the country will soon be out of the 5h1t.
4.) So, unless he wasn't declaring all of his income to the taxman, we've now got to ask - how many hours a week was he driving? So he's speeding around that much that he gets caught by obvious speed cameras at a rate over once per month - WHEN HE's TIRED??
Maybe it's time for tachographs in the taxi cabs? Preferably ones that record all their takings too!”

Do yourselves a favour and read a history book... hell just read a book,
Mainstar first, I think
QUOTE-"Where has anyone said that millions of people are going to be exterminated"END QUOTE
THEY HAVEN'T... yet, which was pretty much the point I was making, (sorry if it was too subtle for you) neither did Hitler,... until it was too late, because if he had stood in the beer halls and said "elect me and I will suspend democracy, freedom of speech, murder over 6 million men women and children, start world war two, and bring our country to total destruction"
I don't think many people would have voted for him, but nevertheless, that's exactly what he did once he WAS in power,
ALTHOUGH, Nick Griffin IS on record as saying "we will not rest until every last one has left our lands" (meaning non white people) as well as "there are no such thing as black or Asian British" and he reassured the KKK on video, that the BNP "haven't sold out , that our ideals are the same as your ideals, and one day when WE control the British media, the British people will say yes... every last one must go"
sometimes he slips and the little Nazi bet wetter comes out,
and Hanley_LJG
QUOTE What a disgusting and disgraceful comment to make suggesting that a Bone Fide political party like the BNP who received some 10% of the electoral votes would resort to genocide. END
oh come on this is a joke right? like Hitler's national socialists party (look up the difference between "socialists" and "national socialists" in one of those book things I mentioned earlier)
were also a "bone Fide" political party and they got a damn sight more than 10% of the vote (by appealing to patriotism and blaming everything that was wrong in Germany on Jews and Foreigners)... sound like any political party you might know?
QUOTE
"This illiterate socialist halfwit should reflect on the fact that" BLAH BLAH BLAH
Illiterate? really? well I do know the difference between "national socialism" and "socialism" and "halfwit"? so charming so polite,
of course only what we would expect, incapable of holding anything approaching an intelligent adult discussion, don't argue the points raised, hurl personal insults instead,
yip I agree there have been some pretty brutal dictators from both the right and the left, but the left kicked the Nazis butts our Russia, and the yanks (the richest and most powerful military force the world has ever seen... apparently) butts out of Vietnam, using pointy sticks and push bikes,
and I am a democratic (democratic... look that up as well) socialist and I love my country as well, and don't want the ignorant haters to take over, regardless of their religion or skin colour,”

“Back in the early 1980's I worked as a maths teacher at a High School. One of my colleagues (a geography teacher) was a borderline fanatic when it came to the subject of his appearance, and he claimed to have had his suit dry-cleaned once a week for his entire teaching career. At the time, he had been employed as a teacher for 6 years and I worked with him for a further 4 years, which meant that, taking school holidays in to account, his suit had been dry-cleaned approximately 380 times.
That impressive and seemingly unbreakable record stood until today, but now arthurheath1 has been taken to the cleaners more times than that geography teachers suit.
Congratulations arthurheath1; you must be very proud of yourself.”

“Just wondering Arthur, but would you have a problem if English was my second language?
And I'm afraid that you are labouring under a misapprehension my friend; I'm not asking you to bridge any gaps that may or may not exist in my understanding of the English language. I'm simply asking you to confirm what you mean when you use certain words and phrases. After all, I'm sure that as a devotee of our mother tongue, you will be more than aware that words and phrases can have many, many different meanings, inflections and connotations. Words are sublimely subjective, and all I'm asking is for YOU to expand on what YOU mean when YOU say – for example – 'communities'. I mean, if there is a particular community that you are talking about, then why are you so reluctant to name it? Just what is it that you are so frightened of Arthur?
Oh, and I would happily agree that you owe me nothing Arthur; it's what you owe yourself that should concern you. Come clean, be unambiguous, and tell us all what you really mean. You'll feel a lot better once you get whatever it is off your chest and out into the open.”

“Silly man! He could have got off scot free if he'd claimed racial discrimination. It worked for that Asian police officer, Ali something..... didn't it?
Oh, hold on a mo, it didn't. That's because all the police are racist aren't they?”

“Oh dear, the lie72 seems to have a problem deciphering plain English. If English is your second language, then that is a problem for you to address, but if English is your first language, you should be able to read and understand my posts. As I owe you nothing, I will not simplify my statements merely to bridge the gap in your understanding.
Now, if you don't mind, please get back to the points raised in relation to this article.”

“Arthur, you are most welcome to exercise your freedom of speech; in fact it could be argued that – for better or worse - I've actually been encouraging you to do just that. But, as on other recent occasions, you have been utterly reluctant to grasp the opportunity to voice a clear and precise opinion with regards to whatever is troubling you. I wonder why that is? I think I know…
You get your big chance to tell us all exactly what you really think about things, and what do you do? You chicken out. You bottle it. You hide behind the cowardly nudge-nudge wink-wink semantics that you try to pass off as insightful comment. And then you expect us to actually listen to you. Tell me Arthur, if you can't find the courage to say what you mean, then why should I or anyone else listen?
As I see it, the problem you have Arthur is that you are too gutless and too freighted to say precisely what you mean when you use phrases like 'has anyone heard of an honest one' and 'communities', and until you do explain yourself, you will only be taken seriously by people who already share your views. And perhaps the saddest thing of all is that you don't even realise that - when you use barbed innuendo like 'diversification' and 'other business activities' without explicitly saying what you mean - you are actually making a mockery of the freedom of speech that you speak of.
I just hope that when the silent majority do eventually voice their collective opinion, they have the moral courage - that you so clearly lack - to come out and say exactly what they mean. So 'man up', 'grow a pair', 'find your spine' and do whatever you need to do to find the courage to come out and be explicit Arthur. Because if you don't, then all you are doing is wasting the freedom of speech that you and I hold so dear.”

“No Arthur, you have every right to express your outlandish views if you wish, and we have every right to tell you that you are wrong. Its called debate my dear chap. If you wish to keep painting people as telling lies and breaking the law just because of your uh uneducated mind set, you go right ahead, You have been to many times what it makes you look like and you don't seem to bothered.”
