Shadow minister tours renewal sites
CIVIC leaders met a shadow minister during a whistle-stop tour of regeneration projects in the area.
Conservative shadow minister for communities and local government, Stewart Jackson, spent several hours in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday visiting sites such as City Waterside, in Hanley, and the housing renewal zones in Burslem and Middleport.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council's cabinet member for regeneration, councillor Brian Ward, said: "We invited the shadow minister to come and see what we are doing to regenerate the city.
"Regardless of which party wins the next election, we need to make sure that we are at the front of the queue for any funding to support our regeneration strategy.
"I think we really need to do more to connect with Government ministers and departments instead of waiting for them to come to us."
