Sentinelle makeover: Julie Gallimore
Childcare practitioner Julie Gallimore was nominated for a Sentinelle makeover by her sister Angela Wynne. The married mum-of-two from Welby Street, in Fenton, had suffered a difficult bout of depression last year and Angela thought the 37-year-old deserved a bit of pampering.
Natalie Cane, stylist at Keido Hair & Beauty in Hanley, did Julie's hair. She says: "When Julie came into the salon she said she wasn't very happy with the colour of her hair as it was quite uneven. She decided she wanted to go a chocolatey brown because this would even it out and we chose one from the Matrix brand. Julie's hair was quite short to begin with but she said she wanted a style that was easy to do, so I chose a short sharp cut that she could easily maintain at home. To blow dry and finish I used Big Sexy Hair products and I think the look really suited her."
COST: Julie's cut and colour would have cost £53.50. To contact the salon call 01782 281181.
The make-up
Donna Jablonski, beautician at Keido Hair & beauty in Hanley did Julie's make-up. She says: "With it being daytime we decided to go for a more natural look. Julie said she normally wears a lot of brown, so I wanted to go for something different to give her a bit of a change. I decided to focus on her eyes and gave her a nice smokey look, finishing with some black mascara to enhance them. I added some bronzer to her cheeks to bring a little more colour to her face and I finished off with a natural looking lipstick."
COST: Julie's make-up would have cost £18. To contact the salon call 01782 281181.
The clothes
Gemma Langford, supervisor at New Look in the Potteries Shopping Centre, Hanley, did Julie's clothes. She says: "Julie wanted a look she could wear on a night out but she didn't want anything too clingy, especially around the middle. We picked an outfit out of the Secret Garden trend which is floral designs with lots of lace. She chose a beige bubble hem floaty top with floral detail, priced £22, and a pair of black full length leggings, priced £8. Julie doesn't like bare arms so we chose a black ¾ sleeve shrug, priced £10. She absolutely fell in love with the shoes, which were a nude studded court shoe with an ankle strap at the back, priced £20. We finished off with lots of accessories including earrings, priced £4, several bracelets, priced £6, a pearl bracelet, priced £6, and a pearl rose ring, priced £3. Julie was a really nice lady and she looked fantastic at the end."

The verdict
Julie says: "I had a lovely day and it really cheered me up. My hair was quite short to begin with so it wasn't a big change, but I really like the sharp style and the colour is great. I liked the make-up as well because it was quite natural. I normally stick to browns but Donna tried something a bit different and I thought it looked nice. I wear a lot of black so the cream top I wore in New Look made a nice change. It was good to try on a different look and I was really pleased with the end result."
