TWO senior Labour councillors have been accused of bullying colleagues at a group meeting.

A leaked email shows at least one complaint was made about the behaviour  of Mohammed Pervez and Mark Meredith at the emergency meeting on March 10, 2008.

  1. Dimensions in Burslem

Mr Meredith, then elected mayor, and Mr Pervez, then portfolio holder for community services and social cohesion, had denied rumours that meetings had taken place with Waterworld-owner Mo Chaudry over the closure of Burslem's Dimensions splash pool. It is now known that the meetings did take place.

But according to the leaked email from Councillor Joy Garner, in which she lodges a formal complaint, Mr Meredith, now cabinet member for economic development, responded to questions about the rumours by 'ranting and bullying Labour party members'.

Mrs Garner also says that Mr Pervez, now council leader, 'nearly screamed that he was now being racially abused' in relation to the links between Dimensions and Waterworld.

According to Mrs Garner's email, several councillors left the meeting 'acrimoniously', while others, including herself, felt aggrieved at what had happened.

“"Mrs Garner also says that Mr Pervez, now council leader, 'nearly screamed that he was now being racially abused' in relation to the links between Dimensions and Waterworld."

"You then stated that you "did not wish to play the race card" but felt that the council was not, in effect, being even handed in it's relations with you." from Letter detailing a Dimensions meeting from the council's Steve Robinson to Mo Chaudry, 2008.

Mmmmm.....can anyone see a common theme here, about disagreeing with a member of an ethnic minority?”

“For those praising potteye (BARNES) he was the Labour leader of the council then and he did nothing, so in mine and many others eyes he is playing the same game as Garner.
    Its called "passing the buck".
Wasn't he a front page item in the Sentinel once charged with indecency with Children?
This cancer as been with the council for a long, long time, and only the people can root it out at the ballot box.”

    Oh, for goodness sake.

They'll all 'waver' exactly five minutes before the next election is due.”

“You just pay for their silence by giving them a post, or supporting them in trying to get one. Police panel. Police Commissoner, lost, came last. Now Fire Brigade panel . It is all about money. She probably was not to upset about losing the vote, more upset about losing out financially . But she soon jumped ship just after the vote. Wonder why? Because it was more money? Her next next job she has her eyes set on? Joan Walley, Stoke North M.P. Take the knife out of your back. They run the civic centre, and the same people are having a big say in the local Labour Party politics. Don't you find it strange nothing is coming from the Local M,P. Both the owner and his poodle are muted or is that mutted, to be in the running. They needed that extra on their c.v. The big gamble with Hanley, and the failed gamble of Police Commissioner. If you read the email, it shows them in their true colours. Did not have the bottle to do the right thing. The very fact that they sent this complaint feeling as strongly as they did, then do nothing, to be his lap dog says everything you need to know about this person and the rest of them. The Labour Party has lost it's true meaning, FOR THE PEOPLE. It is now standing for, DECEIT, CORRUPTION. LIES. We are in it for ourselves. To hell with anyone else. Lowest of the low. The sad part of all this is, if this was done, the job of the councillor. on a voluntary basis, i don;t think we would be where we are today. People would be standing up and sticking to their principals of what the people want, who they are supposed to be representing. They are running scared, because, this is only a job to them, gravy train. and they dare not cross the dictators running the show. Money before people. Then we have a Labour Councillor saying it was disrespectful to hold the meeting at the cenotaph when the march took place on Saturday. The very people that lived and died for what we believe in, DEMOCRACY AND FREEDOM , from the oppressors. Some of the values the Labour Party was founded on. NOT ANY MORE. I hope the Sentinel publish this email for all to see. Make up your mind to who you are dealing with and pretend to represent you. If not it is on POTTEYE in one of their articles showing.”

“Kettle and frying pan comes to mind those in glass houses should not throw stones.
Makes you wander as to why someone should acuse there own party members of bullying.
OH let's see is someone trying to up there profile ready for MP?
    Sad but interesting.”
