School gives a good education
A SCHOOL where children find lessons fun and are "keen to do their best" has been awarded good marks in an Ofsted report.
Inspectors say pupils at Hamilton Infants' School, in Birches Head, make good academic progress and staff also develop their social skills "exceptionally well".
Children's behaviour is generally good and "exemplary" in assemblies. The inspectors found the children are proud of their school and concentrate well in lessons.
The report rates teaching at Hamilton as good overall and says staff have a good rapport with the children, although some assessment approaches lack consistency. Inspectors were impressed with the way subjects are linked together.
Pupils develop their literacy skills, for instance, by studying historical characters like Florence Nightingale or by writing about space travel and how to survive on another planet.
Overall, Hamilton Infants is described as providing a good standard of education.
