Sam misses out in early England loss
FORMER Moddershall batsman Sam Kelsall made 13 as England Under-19s made a losing start to their tour of Bangladesh.
Kelsall, who recently signed a two-year professional contract with Nottinghamshire, was run out as England slipped to a 44-run defeat in the first of seven one-day matches in Chittagong.
Bangladesh compiled 265-8 from their 50 overs, thanks to 81 from Mosaddek Hossain and a 41-ball half-century from Al-Amin.
Daniel Bell-Drummond then got the run-chase off to a strong start with 55, but Noor Hossain's 4-31 proved key for the hosts.
Aneesh Kapil (43) and Ben Foakes (32) also chipped in with useful contributions, but England were eventually dismissed for 221. Noor Hussain was the pick of the Bangladesh attack with 4-31.
KUMAR Sangakkara's century led Sri Lanka to a riveting two-wicket win over South Africa with a ball to spare as they restored some pride in the fifth and final one-day international.
At 3-1 down, Sri Lanka appeared poised for another defeat when centuries from Graeme Smith (125) and AB de Villiers (125no), who added 186 in 28 overs for for the third wicket, led the Proteas to 312-4.
But Sangakkara (102) and Lahiru Thirimanne (69) put on 100 together and, when both fell late on, Sachithra Senanayake smashed a six to seal a breathless win.
