Sale to boost church funds
SHOPPERS are being invited to take part in a sale in aid of their local church fund.
The Handbags and Accessories event will be held at St Matthews Church, in Birches Head Road, Hanley, on Friday, October 26, to raise cash towards the upkeep of the church.
Handbags, scarves, gloves, jewellery, belts and wallets provided by Mosaic in Leek will be on sale at the free event.
Church hall manager, Nick Broad, said: "The items are all brand new, and shoppers can help themselves to a free glass of wine with cheese and biscuits.

The event will also feature a raffle.
Nick added: "We held a similar event a few months ago and it was very successful and everyone had a really good time and found some great buys."
The church doors open at 7pm.
Proceeds from sales and the raffle will go towards the operating costs of the church.
