Saddle up and take on Tour, riders urged
AMATEUR bike riders have the opportunity to ride the official Stoke-on-Trent stage of the Tour of Britain.
The Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Ride is the first of its kind in the UK. It offers the public the chance to ride the same route raced by champions like Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins.
Entrants can take part in three different rides, depending on ability and fitness.
All the different circuits start from under the Tour of Britain gantry at the Britannia Stadium.
The Pro Tour Ride covers the full 145km of the Stoke-on-Trent stage of this year's Tour of Britain, the Challenge Tour Ride covers 70km over much of the stage, while the Family Tour Ride is a 20km fun ride.
The Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Ride takes place on September 6.
Cyclists competing in the Tour of Britain are expected to complete the Stoke-on-Trent leg on September 16.
