STOKE City will announce tomorrow whether or not they are appealing against an FA charge of violent conduct against Robert Huth.

The club had originally been given a 6pm deadline this evening, but that has now been extended because Stoke were late being informed of the charge.

However, the club is still expected to decline the chance to appeal against the charge when they eventually announce their decision.

TV pictures showed Huth raising a fore-arm and catching Fulham defender Philippe Senderos on the chin as they collided in the penalty area during Stoke's 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Huth, who has been on the pitch for every minute of every league and cup game so far this season, faces a three-match ban if found guilty and that would mean missing the fixtures against West Ham, Newcastle and West Bromwich Albion.

If Stoke were to appeal the charge and fail, the big German could be faced with an extra one-match ban for a frivolous appeal.

“A well deserved and long overdue ban for Huth, one of the dirtiest players in England.”

“Its not as though its the first time is it . Huth has been very lucky and allowed to get away with things far too long . Stoke need to get rid of these silly bully boy actions of players and if it doesn't stop just get rid of them end of story .. To be honest I think Stoke have never had some many rubbish players we are going down the nick fast. After watching Oldham last night I thought I wish Stoke could take a leaf out of their book, they looked far better than Stoke in every way .”

“I assume Huth will be fined by the club for bringing the club into disrepute and letting his teammates down.
If not, what sort of message does that send?!”

“I'm not sure why it's taken the FA so long to inform the club hat Robert Huth is being charged with violent conduct, this was hilighted on Sky sports and MOTD over the weekend, I assumed he would have been charged on Monday. I was listening to Talk Sport on Monday & our good friend Adrian Durham was as usual spouting his usual drivel about Stoke including and not for the 1st time calling us " A Team Of Thugs", while I dont agree with what Huth did I think there is an agenda when it comes to Stoke and the longer this goes on the more people will jump on the bandwagon. The chairman needs to haul in the management team and instruct them to first of all alter our approach to games to include more focus on attacking football and less of the ugly side which no doubt goes on at every club, but now is becoming a real focus where the media are concerned.”

“square peg round hole? Geoff Cameron is a USA international CB.
HOWEVER, saying that he'll probably play Shotton or Whitehead there.”

“It is pathetic, Of course they won't appeal, because he will get found guilty and given 4 games. So it will be another square peg in a round hole for three games.”

“Just let it go. no appeal necessary !! However, the question now is who to replace him for 3 games while he gets a well earned rest. I suppose the ideal candidate will be Geoff Cameron. Let's see”
