Ruby fun day raises cash
A FUN day to raise money for a two-year-old girl battling cancer has raised £2,000.
Doctors have given Ruby Owen, of Kidsgrove, less than a 20 per cent chance of survival – she has already undergone an eight-hour operation to remove most of a tumour.

Unless Ruby responds to treatment her parents may be forced to find £250,000 for pioneering treatment abroad.
Family friend Donna Downs, aged 32, of Kidsgrove, who organised the family fun day at Kidsgrove Cricket Club, said: "About 500 people turned up. It was a successful day and we are getting a lot of support."
The next fund-raising event for Ruby will be a race night at The Cushion pub, in Goldenhill, on August 28.
