Rock concert aids Spitfires
A ROCK concert planned will raise money for a wheelchair basketball team.
Three bands will play at the gig at the JCB Lakeside Club, Uttoxeter, on Saturday, November 28, in aid of the Stoke Spitfires.
Dave Beaumont, JCB worker and team treasurer, aged 42, from Checkley, said: "People should come along, because it's a good night and it's raising funds for a local charity."
The 12-member team is based at Dimensions Leisure Centre, Burslem.
They host six home games a season and Dave said: "We have to pay for the referee, table officials and hire the court – it all comes to about £25,000 a year."
Teen rock band Orion will be playing the event, alongside Sinpusher and Big Lix.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 8.30pm, cost £6.50 and can be bought by calling Dave on 07747 751796.
