Rob triumphs as his franchise is named as one of the best
AN ESTATE agent who began his franchise from scratch at the start of last year has been voted the best in the multi-award winning company he represents after an exceptionally strong year.
Rob Norton, who set up the Goodchilds agency in Piccadilly, Hanley, last January, was delighted to be voted the best franchisee at the recent end-of-year meeting staged for all the 15 offices in the business which stretches from Milton Keynes to Stoke-on-Trent.
Goodchilds itself recently won the Best Estate Agency Franchise at The Estate Agency of the Year Awards held by The Sunday Times newspaper and sponsored by Zoopla Property Group. More than 5,000 estate agents entered the annual competition which is now in its 10th year and is regarded in the industry as one of the toughest to win.
A panel of industry experts assess the initial entry submissions before doing an in-depth review of the entrants which includes hundreds of telephone interviews and mystery shopping exercises and the whole judging process is overseen by The Property Ombudsman, Christopher Hamer.

Now Rob says he is proud to have been voted the best of the best. Last year he beat his first year sales targets by 35 per cent and lettings by 20 per cent. His targets were based on figures achieved by other, established Goodchilds outlets, and he surpassed all expectations.
He says: "Goodchilds recently had our end of year targets meeting and awards and I was awarded the best franchisee for last year which is a big feat because it was my first year. Since we are currently the Gold award winners for the best franchised company in the country too I am extremely proud.''
Rob has also got 2013 off to a good start with a record month.
