Alton Towers offers visitors free pants to protect against accidents on new ride
VISITORS to Alton Towers will be handed free protective pants to wear while riding a new roller-coaster.
Staff at the Staffordshire tourist attraction made the move after receiving reports riders were having "unfortunate accidents" on the new Th13rteen ride. The ride, which took two years to develop, is the world's first free-fall drop roller-coaster.

And Morwenna Angove, sales and marketing director at the theme park, said: "We have had several reports of unfortunate accidents involving riders who were not prepared for the most shocking part of the ride.
"Th13rteen contains many surprising elements as it takes riders on an exhilarating journey so in response we have decided to make protective underwear freely available in the hope it will make both riders and staff feel more secure."
