Residents lose machine fight
RESIDENTS have lost their fight to stop machinery being moved across an industrial site.
Harrison's Coal Yard, in Milton Road, Milton, has been granted retrospective permission to relocate a recycling machine to the opposite side of the yard.
-

BATTLE: Councillor Jack Brereton backed residents' campaign.
Families living nearby had raised concerns that the site was already too noisy and moving the machinery had added to the problem.
But Stoke-on-Trent City Council passed the plans with conditions.

Councillor Jack Brereton, who supported residents in their campaign, said: "The machine poses a major health and safety issue. It is extremely close to Milton Road which provides the main link for children walking to school.
"The noise problems concern residents who have already complained about the noise on the site and further concerns have been raised about the amount of traffic generated from the site which puts increasing pressure on the road network."

“Pretty soon Milton Road will just be one large industrial estate, i live on Milton road and between the building work and chaotic parking issues at the High School along with the constant stream of HGV's from the local business's the road is just about useable. Isnt it funny that you never see a local councillor campaigning to stop building work or high speed rail lines from happening where they live???”
