Rapper Shane Eli lured from LA to Longton for comedy film
U.S. RAPPER and songwriter Shane Eli has travelled to Stoke-on-Trent to produce the soundtrack for a new film.
Shane Eli, who is usually based in LA, visited Longton last week to work on the soundtrack for Pulp, a comedy set in the world of comic book publishing.

Pulp is being co-produced by Longton-based Reels in Motion and Newcastle's Dare Productions and was largely filmed around Stoke-on-Trent.
Shane, who has just released his second album, I Can Do Better, has produced for artists including funk legends Earth, Wind And Fire and has supported hip-hop stars including Common and Ludacris.
His music has featured on U.S. TV shows including CSI and Friday Night Lights.
Shane visited Reels in Motion's base at the Sutherland Institute to work on Pulp's soundtrack.
He said: "Pulp looks great, and it's the kind of film that has the potential to truly go global. I'm proud to be a part of such a creative project."
Adam Hamdy, of Dare, said: "Shane is one of the hottest up and coming artists today and to have him part of the Pulp team is incredible.
"His range is astounding, and based on his early tracks for the film, he's going to smash people's expectations."
Pulp, the first of a planned "geek trilogy", tells the story of Tony Leary, the nice-guy owner of Junk Comics who is gearing up for one last big launch.
His previous titles, such as Infinity Finity and Rat Warriors, have been described as "the worst material since Mein Kampf".
But Tony is determined to make his new one a success at the British International Comic Show.
Unfortunately for him, also heading for the show are a gang of Geordie criminals who are using another comic firm to launder their money.
When Tony is drafted in by the police to help bring the culprits to justice, he and his geek sidekicks Rick and Keith must defy the odds and become real-life heroes.
Adam added: "Pulp is an homage to comic books and movies. "Comic fans should love it, as should anyone who likes to laugh at irreverent comedies."
Sentinel Business reported in April that Reels in Motion and Dare had signed a deal with internet giant AOL to promote the film, which is due to be released next year.
Reels in Motion and Dare have filmed a series of interviews with movie fans, comic enthusiasts and celebrities like Jonathan Ross on subjects such as 'who would win a fight between Superman and Spiderman?', which are shown weekly on AOL's men's lifestyle channel asylum.co.uk.
