Raise a glass for top pubs
THE Heart of Staffordshire's pub and club of the year have been named.
Members of the regional branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) voted that the Greyhound, in County Road, Stafford, should take the top pub title.
Little Stoke Cricket Club, in Uttoxeter Road, near Stone, was the number one club.
West Midlands acting regional director Mike Harker said: "The Greyhound does a very good selection of beers.
"And the cricket club has put on a beer festival for the first time, which showed great initiative, and has had very good beers on all year."
A presentation will take place at the Stafford Beer Festival on June 25, with individual awards to be made at the winning pub and club in July.
