VISITORS to a garden centre will be able to hear a talk from a plant expert.

Keith Atkey, BBC Radio Stoke's gardening expert, will be at Bridgemere Nursery and Garden World, near Nantwich, every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until February 25.

The garden centre's manager of horticulture, Hedley Triggs, said: "Keith, who also works at the garden centre and is one of our plant experts, will be talking about spring flowering bulbs, shrubs and trees.

"Keith's talks will provide a glimpse into some of the many delights that lie ahead for gardens in the spring time. He will be sharing his advice on preparing flower beds and gardens for the coming months.

"The talks, which will start at 10.30am with coffee and a biscuit, include a two-course lunch in the garden centre's restaurant. People will then have plenty of time for shopping in the afternoon."

Keith has been responsible for preparing plants for three Chelsea Show Gardens. One of them, the Daily Telegraph's Latin Garden, won a Best in Show award. He also prepared plants for a garden at Tatton Park Show in 2000, which also won Best in Show.

Tickets cost £10.99 per person and include the talk and the two-course lunch. Booking is essential. To reserve a place, visit the garden centre's restaurant or call 01270 521100.
