Racing: Military to benefit from Uttoxeter price cuts
MEMBERS of the British armed forces will receive discounted admission to Uttoxeter Racecourse after the owners signed up to the 'Value For Valour' campaign.
Under the scheme, soldiers, sailors and members of the RAF, as well as territorials, can now buy two Premier Enclosure admission tickets for the price of one.
Tony Kelly, Group Managing Director of the racecourse's owner Northern Racing, said: "We want to show our appreciation to the service men and women of the country.
"Britain has much to be proud of when it comes to our armed forces, who show such dedication, hard work and commitment.
"Value For Valour was inspired by Captain Nicola Rush through the horseracing industry. It is a superb initiative with which we are delighted to be involved.
"Uttoxeter Racecourse's offer is especially valuable to servicemen and women with children because under-16s are given free admission – providing an affordable day out at the races for the family in these tough economic times."
There are already close links between the armed services and the racecourse. Races during the year include the Staffordshire Regiment Challenge Cup and the Queen's Royal Lancers Challenge Cup.
To take up the two for one deal armed services personnel are invited to ring the racecourse on 01889 562561.
Service identification cards will be required when collecting tickets from the racecourse.
