Quick-on-the-draw Steph floors contest opposition

T HE office manager at a family-run estate agency has proven herself the fastest drawer in the country after winning a competition to find who could complete a floorplan in the shortest possible time.

Steph Dunn-Fox, who has been in the trade for six years of which the previous nine months have been with Findahome Online, based near Cheadle, took first place in the national Speed Floor-Plan Drawing competition.

It is run by Metropix, the website which allows agents to draw plans online.

Contestants had to complete the plan of a three bedroom house and Steph, 23, completed the task in an astonishing two minutes and 48 seconds. The next quickest took another five seconds but virtually all of the entrants managed the task in less than five minutes.

Steph, of Selborne Road, Leek, who has won an Apple iPad as her prize, says: "I only entered it for a bit of fun at first. We were sent a floorplan to look at and then had to go online and draw it, filling in all the details such as the doors and windows, the kitchen fixtures, all the things we put into the floorplans which go with the sales particulars of a property.

"I am so happy to have won the iPad and finish first. I have only been drawing floorplans for the last six months so this is a real achievement. I do draw quite a lot of them and one of our selling packages includes a 3D floorplan. I particularly enjoy drawing the 3D floorplans and they are popular with customers. I would like to thank Metropix for giving me the opportunity to enter the competition."

A Metropix spokesman adds: "Throughout March and into April we invited property professionals from across the UK to take part in our 'Speed Floor-Plan Drawing' competition, a game we believe the organisers of London 2012 mistakenly overlooked.

"While the winning time was an impressive 2:48:77mins we would like to thank all those who participated of whom 94 per cent achieved times of less than five minutes to draw the three-bedroomed house.
