Queen and family are not parasites
AFTER listening to a caller on local radio calling the Queen and the royal family a bunch of parasites, I feel that I must point out that the various members of the royal family work very hard.
The Queen carries out numerous engagements as does the Duke of Edinburgh. The Princes William and Harry are both serving in dangerous areas of the military.

BROTHERS IN ARMS: Prince Harry, left, and Prince William have been praised for their military roles by letter writer M Lloyd, who says they work very hard alongside other memebrs of the royal family.
Previously Princes Charles and Andrew both served for long periods in the Royal Navy, in Prince Andrew's case in the Falklands conflict. How does that make them parasites?

“I agree with the sentiment of this letter.
Those that do not support the idea of the Monarchy quite simply do not understand the modern meaning of its design.
I could go on and on about sending Gordon Brown or Jeffrey Archer around the world in the Queen's stead and watch as the crowds stand fifty deep in any Country we care to mention as a speech is delivered, but I already know the result of such a dare.
The easiest thing for people with little care, thought or consideration of anything but themselves is to voice opposition to the unifying living factor of the hereditary system of Monarchy in our Country.
It is even easier for the rest of us who do have a wider thought for others in our homeland to simply accept the powerful mesage of unity that our Royal family sends around the world.
If I'm allowed a day off, I just love watching Americans cringe and die with envy at every visit, either here or in the US.
The line by Ricky Gervais, recently, was a killer:
"The Golden Globes is a poor man's Oscars:
A bit like Kim Kardashian versus Kate Middleton"
Ooooooh! The look on their rich faces said everything, but was well worth it.”
