STAFFORD Rangers manager Greg Clowes will be checking on his injured players ahead of tonight's Evo-Stik Premier Division clash with Buxton at Marston Road.

Strike pair Danny Quinn and Dean Oliver are struggling with hamstring problems, while Michael Carr hasn't played since he was treated for an eye injury picked up in the Walsall Senior Cup match at neighbours Stafford Town.

Central defender Liam Walshe is another who missed Saturday's disappointing 2-2 draw at basement club Eastwood Town after going down with food poisoning on Friday.

"There will be changes," Clowes admitted.

"I just have to decide whether to bring someone in who wasn't involved in the squad on Saturday.

"Buxton finished last season brilliantly, but they are in a similar position to us this season.

"They are two points ahead of us and a win would put us above them – that's our focus for this match."

The Rangers boss was disappointed with his side's display at Eastwood, but praised front two Fabrice Kasiama and Karl Ashton.

"I thought they worked well, bearing in mind it is the first time they have played together," Clowes added.

"Karl gave us a big physical presence and won a lot of headers.

"But we need to start scoring goals. We have drawn eight of our 17 league games and that is why we are where we are in the league."
