PUPILS in Cheshire were presented with prizes after entering Bridgemere Nursery & Garden World's vegetable planting beds competition.

Bridgemere Church of England (Aided) Primary School, on Bridgemere Lane, near Nantwich, scooped first prize in the competition, which formed part of the garden centre's Vegetable Growing Weekend.

Gary Kemp, manager of the garden centre, near Nantwich, said: "We wanted to offer schools the opportunity to win the use of our new vegetable planting beds to grow their own vegetables at the garden centre. We were delighted with the number of entries we received, telling us why their schools deserved to win.

"Bridgemere CE (Aided) Primary School has won a grow your own kit to plant up their vegetable beds. Free advice from our experts will also be available to the school during visits."
