A MULTI-MILLION pound YMCA development will provide new sports and leisure facilities for Stoke-on-Trent residents, including the area's tallest climbing wall.

YMCA North Staffordshire is putting the finishing touches to its new £9.5 million youth campus complex in Harding Road, Hanley.

Chief executive Danny Flynn said: "While many people see the YMCA as a place for young people to come seeking help, they perhaps do not realise that the new complex will provide high-quality sports facilities which will be open to all."

The development features a sports hall, an 11-metre climbing wall, gym and outdoor all-weather pitch.

The complex also has 36 flats and education and meeting facilities.

It has been funded by the Government's myplace programme, with support from the Big Lottery Fund and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

For more information about using the sports facilities contact Adrian Tilstone on 01782 222376.
