Prolific burglar Anthony Kershaw back in prison
SERIAL burglar Anthony Kershaw is back behind bars after he committed a series of house raids to feed his heroin addiction.
The crime spree made the 37-year-old a 'fourth-strike' burglar and he was yesterday jailed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court for four years.

Kershaw burgled a house in Greenfield Road, Tunstall, on January 2 and asked for six other burglaries and five attempted burglaries in Staffordshire to be taken into consideration.
He also admitted burgling a property in Sidmouth, Devon, on November 21 last year. And he asked for eight other burglaries in Devon to be taken into consideration.

Prosecutor David Bennett said the Devon burglary on November 21 involved Kershaw breaking into a detached bungalow while the homeowners were away on holiday.
A neighbour, checking on the property, found Kershaw in a bedroom.
The defendant, who jumped out of a window, escaped with keys, jewellery and a diary.
But Kershaw was caught on CCTV approaching the bungalow. He was wearing a reflective jacket and gloves and carrying a handful of leaflets which related to a business owned by his stepmother. The court heard Kershaw was on bail from Staffordshire Police when he committed the Tunstall burglary on January 2.
Mr Bennett said the defendant was arrested at 11.25am and was found with two carrier bags full of stolen items. On his arrest he said the laptop in the bag was from the house.
The homeowner returned at 11.45am to discover the kitchen window smashed and jewellery, cash, electrical equipment and a computer had been stolen, together worth £1,100.
Kershaw, who used to live in the Potteries and now lives in Devon, pleaded guilty to two burglaries and asked for 19 other matters to be taken into consideration.
Peter McCartney, mitigating, said heroin has blighted Kershaw's life.
He said the defendant moved to Devon in 2010 to change his lifestyle and his associates.
"Unfortunately he drifted back into heroin use and it has led him to this," said Mr MrCartney. He asked Judge Styler not to pass a sentence which would 'crush' the defendant.
Jailing Kershaw for four years, Judge Styler said: "Heroin has blighted your life. But that is no consolation for all the households whose homes you have burgled."
