This is Staffordshire

We write in reference to The Round House in Cheadle.

Finally, it seems as though some small steps are being taken to help the plight of the Round House, which has been neglected for so long.

An Urgent Works Notice was fixed to the building by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, requiring the owner to make improvements.

While this may only go so far as to not let its condition worsen, this is at least better than nothing and so we support it.

While we have made our many efforts to try to persuade the owner or the authorities to act, such action has finally begun after we pointed out that the concerned councillor Peter Warrilow had the power and influence to make these things happen.

We do not know whether he acted upon our comments, but we'd like to acknowledge our appreciation to Mr Warrilow, pictured, in the belief that he heeded our call.

It is no time for anyone to rest on any laurels though.

There remains a lot to do involving far more than a piece of paper, before the Round House is properly looked after. But, for now, thank you.
