Pro leaves strugglers
MODDERSHALL's relegation battle has suffered a blow after professional Rangana Herath was called into the Sri Lanka Test squad.
The left-arm spinner was a late call-up for today's first Test against Pakistan in Galle after injury ruled out star bowler Muttiah Muralitharan.
Herath, who has made 14 Test appearances, has taken 14 wickets for Premier Division Moddershall, with best figures of 5-16.
He was set to battle it out with uncapped off-spinner Suraj Mohamed for a place in the Test side, while Moddershall, who play Wood Lane today, were left searching for a substitute pro.
