LIONS' PRIDE: Newcastle Lions presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust.

The cash was raised at various events including a Santa's Grotto at Northwood Garden Centre in Clayton Road, Clayton.

Donna Louise Hospice fund-raiser Christina Hunter said: "We are grateful to everyone at Newcastle Lions for this donation.

"We need to raise £2 million every year to run the hospice and we rely on the generosity of the public to do this."
