Emma Bridgewater pottery helps raise a smile for charity
POTTERY firm Emma Bridgewater has created a range of limited edition home ware to raise cash for Comic Relief.
The Hanley-based factory has produced six mugs, two tea towels, two aprons, oven gloves and a bag for sale at discount retailers TK Maxx and HomeSense across the UK.

The mugs will cost £9.99 – around half the price of an average Emma Bridgewater mug which typically retail for around £20 – with a percentage of profits donated to the charity.
Head of Manufacturing, Mark Thomas, has overseen the production of the range.

He said: "We're very proud of the final products and of our staff for getting behind the cause.
"Emma, her husband Matthew and everyone here feel passionately that Comic Relief is a fantastic charity that sees a real benefit to people across the city.
"The range fits perfectly with the rest of our collection and I would be surprised if it doesn't completely sell out."
The mugs are designed around the Black Toast range of Emma Bridgewater products but have a black and red Comic Relief colour scheme.
Mark said the company has significantly cut the margin of the products in order to generate more sales and profit for the charity.
In total, 31,500 mugs have been sent to shops, 5,250 of each design. The tea towels will retail at £4.99, the aprons at £12.99, the tote bag at £9.99 and the oven glove at £7.99.
A unique Comic Relief teapot, water jug and creamer have also been produced for to be auctioned on Ebay later this year.
Mark added: "They are entirely unique. We have fans not just in Stoke-on-Trent but across the world so I imagine they will make a significant amount for charity."
The range has been sold in shops since January 21, and the apron made its debut on the celebrity contestants on the Comic Relief special of the Great British Bake Off last week. Will Whittaker of the Emma Bridgewater Creative Team, was in charge of transferring adapting Emma and Matthew's designs for the final products.
He said: "They designs were really appropriate for the Do Something Funny for Money theme because they reflect Emma and Matthew's quirky sense of humour.
"Matthew created the Comic Relief logo and we touch the pictures up and create the final design for the product.
"It was great to see the aprons on the Bake Off."
The products are available from TK Maxx in Hanley and Crewe.
