Port Vale vs Rotherham: Millers haunted by old boy Pope
Former Rotherham striker Tom Pope scored four times against his old employers to inspire Port Vale to a 6-2 victory.
Pope scored twice and was involved in the other two goals as Vale romped into a four-goal lead against the shell-shocked promotion favourites in the first 28 minutes.
Louis Dodds rolled the ball past Scott Shearer to open the scoring after fine play by Pope and Chris Shuker sent him racing clear in the fifth minute.
And Shuker was again the architect in the 16th minute when Pope headed his perfect cross inside Shearer's left-hand post.

Shearer couldn't prevent Pope adding his side's third in the 21st minute either as he looped the ball into the net after collecting Sam Morsy's pass.
Pope then picked out the run of Ashley Vincent following a Rotherham corner, and the fleet-footed winger sprinted half the length of the field before cracking in a left-foot shot from 20 yards.
Some of Rotherham's 750 travelling fans were on their way home when Michael O'Connor drove in a close-range shot from Ben Pringle's pass to reduce the arrears in the 31st minute.
And the visitors had hope for an improbably comeback in the 54th minute when Daniel Nardiello slotted a penalty past Chris Neal after referee Mick Russell had spotted a handball.
But Vale's victory was assured just after the hour-mark when poacher Pope tapped in after Shuker's free-kick was deflected against Shearer's left-hand post.
Pope then completed his and Vale's perfect day when he capitalised on some dismal defending to steer a cool left-foot shot beyond a stunned Shearer 12 minutes from time.

“Shaun is ammusing me now, when cornered with no answer to points raised then just attack.
However I suspected you would like to chuck Miller & Deakin into the equation, interestingly the £ 750,000 cash shortfall does not take into account the additional £ 370,000 received in the form of the mortgage and Ryder loan.........carry on digging that hole for yourself.
Any way rather than us both boring every one else, lets discuss this in a sensible manner at Vale, box 45, come and find me.”

“Tisdeano said "Lets stick to facts, we went into admin because we could not pay bills on their due date".
No s**t Sherlock!!!!! Ever thought of a career as an accountant or even a journalist? Perhaps your mate Martin could get you a role as a sports reporter for this lot, I could imagine you too plotting and scheming behind your keyboards whilst attempting to re-write history.
All your so-called facts are about the actual entering into administration, if you want a debate lets rewind and talk about why turned out why the way they did; there is no doubting in the last 12 months prior to administration that some very unsavoury characters became involved in the running of the club and helped contribute to these figures that you keep churning out.
Lets hear your take on things Dean. And please stop attempting to be witty. You come across as a sanctimonious, belittling, arrogant prat because you don't have the intelligence to carry it.”

“And Shaun Driscol can not even get the names correct let alone answer any of the very basic financial fundamentals, again trying to deflect away from answering the facts by clouding the debate.
Once again Shaun, for you:
The creditors list clearly shows that we had £ 451,830 outstanding and owed immediately to various creditors, [ after removing the Council loan, Ryders Loan and the Mortgage ] . Add to this the unpaid staff and players wages + the unpaid interest payments on the Council loan [ I believe two months ] then the actual amount due immediately was circa £ 750,000.
Im confident that £ 750,000 represents the total value of ST sales for the 2011/2012 season, so are people saying that we had to sell another 3,000 season tickets on top of those sold and that those naughty protestors and people who chose to stay away are therefor to blame ?
Lets stick to facts, we went into admin because we could not pay bills on their due date, some £ 750,000 worth or equal to 1516 full paying adults per match or equal to 2717 extra people per match based on the £ 12 per head figure the V2001 budget was based on.....
Years of losses and increased borrowing led to admin, again another fact what was our average attendance in 2011/2012 compared to previous seasons ?
The facts clearly show you are trying to re-write history, nice try, however you have failed and your MC obssesion continues, its you who is fixated with him :)”

“Tisdeano said "For the record mt preferred option would have been Mike Newton, this would have sat better with the fans in general, for the record I did back MC at the time, in fact I would have backed Colonel Gadaffi over the remains of V2001."
Simple question for you Dean – if your preference was Mike Lloyd, why did you and your cronies not lavish praise and profess your love all day, every day for 18 months for Mike Lloyd in the same way as you did with MC? You've been found out here yet again, attempting to re-write history and pretend that your preference for MC was no more than selecting the best of a bad bunch when in reality you were totally taken in by his waffle, believed he was the saviour of Port Vale, worshipped everything he said and have been shown up to be a fool. Same goes for Tideswell, Seo, B+G, NLV etc etc. You just wouldn't listen when told, would you Dean.
Your gullibility very nearly sent the club into oblivion, at least have the balls to admit your mistake and apologise to those who at the time at a different, but correct, opinion.
Queue another loaded in his favour cut+pasted question……”

“shaun driscoll - just for you, care to debate the following or are you obsessed with Mo, SeO and B&G ?

“Shaun Driscoll is obviously not able to read, or chooses to lie to try and win a debate, at the same time fails to answer the very basic financial points I raised.
For the record, I had a ST during the SeO season, for the record I never implored fellow fans not to attend, for the record I always maintained it was down to personal choice if you followed SeO or not, I did not.
Please do not lie Shaun to try and belittle me, it makes you look a bit stupid.
For the record mt preferred option would have been Mike Newton, this would have sat better with the fans in general, for the record I did back MC at the time, in fact I would have backed Colonel Gadaffi over the remains of V2001.
You have proven numerous times that you are not capable of debating the basic financial points I raised, proven to all who are still reading this and not totally bored by you.
Now, with out making this personal, just grow a set, man up and answer the basic financial points I raised. Do not act like a spoilt child and try and debate points that have nothing to do with why we enbtered admin, just concentrate on why we did enter admin.”

“Tisdeano said "critical fact - we entered admin as we failed to pay bills, the reason we failed to pay bills is that we had no cash"
Sickening hypocrisy from the person who, and I quote word for word here, implored fellow fans "Boycott the next few games so that the club will go into administration and MC can get hold of the club for a lower price". Even lower than the pathetic bid he finally submitted when 4 other parties that he hadn't bargained for entered the race, eh Dean???
I happened to look on a certain forum the other week, a forum that the few who doubted MCs credentials were hounded and bullied off the forum and in some cases branded racists. I see that said forum is in near agreement that MC was attempting to get the club in the cheap and had no interest in Vale or its supporters, apart to use them for his own interests.
As the main protagonist and spokesman amongst this group I think it's time an apology was issued to the fans that saw through MC all the time but were scared off by lynch mob bullying and intimidation. I also think an apology is in order to the few who stood it out and were branded, amongst many other things, 'racists' and 'supporters of other teams'.
It takes a big man to admit he is wrong – the floor is yours Dean…..”

“shaun driscol
im quite happy to debate all issues at vale park, i have not ignored any questions or points, if i have please ask me these questions again and i will answer them in full.
now perhaps you can answer my fairly basic and fundamental qwuestions on finances ?
you also seem to be in the habit of assuming either what i thought in the past or think now, not sure why you do that, perhaps its in your nature
so, lkets begin an adult debate, remove the emotion and feelings and snide remarks and just concentrate on answering the financial points i raised, if you fail to do so then we will see this as evidence that you can not and that we were heading for admin, and even an extra few thousand on the gate would not have prevented this.
now, over to you, get your head out of the sand and prove that you do not have a short memory
critical facts - we entered admin as we failed to pay bills, the reason we failed to pay bills is that we had no cash”

“Tisdeano said "answer my points so we can have a sensible debate"
And in one simple sentence, you demonstrate to us all what you really are all about – Answering your selected questions, on your terms, but ignoring other peoples, and pretending your debating the entire issue.
I can quite understand why you do not wish to talk about certain events at Vale Dean (Your blind obsession to get Chaudry to take over Vale and your belief that there were loads of rich, potential investors queuing up to buy the club, to name but 2) but like Tidesewell you are choosing to totally ignore critical facts (the part you both played in nearly sending the club into liquidation) and are attempting to debate on points that you seem intent on stipulating.
Like Martin you make think we all have short memories Dean, but believe me, that certainly is not the case.”

“shaun driscol
you manage to attack the poster yet have no answer on the points I raised, do try harder
Your childish insults will not re-write history, neither will your raising Choudrys name who has absolutely no bearing on the facts.
Here is a challenge, answer my points re: financial matters in an adult way so we can have a sensible debate”
