Port Vale: Top bloke Glenn lands clubman honour
ASSISTANT groundsman Glenn Jeneson was a popular, but rather bemused winner at Port Vale's awards night this week.
The 22-year-old couldn't quite believe it when manager Micky Adams named him as the clubman of the year.
"I was shocked, to say the least," said Jeneson, who is from Burslem.
Jeneson was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2008, but bravely battled back to health, and a job he loves.

"I enjoy working here, it's great, but being presented with the award was unbelievable," he added. "I thought they were taking the mickey for a minute.
"I did have cancer four years ago, and I still have to have checks every three months to make sure it hasn't come back."
Jeneson works under Vale's head groundsman Steve Speed, looking after the main pitch and the training ground.
And he has made a big impression at the club with his helpful nature and bubbly personality.
Adams said: "Glenn has had problems with his health, but he is always there – a dedicated ally to Steve Speed and a damn good bloke."
