Port Vale: Senior service can keep us on promotion path, says Doug Loft
DOUG Loft says Vale's senior players are not afraid to voice their opinions to ensure poor performances don't derail the club's promotion charge.
The Valiants are second in League Two and five points clear of fourth place with just 12 games remaining.

Doug Loft says Port Vale's promotion bid will be kept alive by the side's senior players.
And skipper Loft admits the changing room is full of strong characters who will not tolerate nights like a 2-0 home defeat against Exeter on Tuesday.
"We weren't good enough and a few boys said things at the end – a few things needed to be said," explained the 26-year-old midfielder.

"It was all dealt with in the dressing room because everyone is working for the same thing and that's promotion. Everyone wants that and that's what we're trying to get.
"It's a loss and I don't think it should be over exaggerated, but we've got to look what we've done wrong and go again.
"We need characters from now until the end of the season and I think we've got enough of them."
Vale make the trip to 11th-placed Oxford United on Saturday hoping to continue the fine away record which has inspired their challenge to climb out of the bottom tier.
Micky Adams' side have won 10 and drawn five of their 17 games on the road while winning eight and drawing four of their 17 home matches.
It is an anomaly shared by title rivals Gillingham, who have lost only once away, but suffered six defeats on their own turf.
Third-placed Burton have enjoyed the opposite luck, winning 13 of 18 at home, but just four of 17 on their travels.
Loft said: "I don't really think about it, but we have obviously done better away from home. Hopefully we can go to Oxford and have a good game and be all right.
"On paper it looks a concern, but I'm strong enough mentally and I am sure everyone else in the changing room is too."

“The players need to be strong, the manager needs to be strong, and most of all we, the fans, need to be strong and encourage the team all the way to promotion.
Come on Vale at Oxford on Satrurday”
