Port Vale: Rampant Valiants will help pull in potential buyers
PORT Vale's flying start to the season is making the club more attractive to potential buyers.
Administrator Bob Young reckons the impressive form shown by Micky Adams's team can only help in the search for a new owner.

Administrator Bob Young has said Port Vale's recent form will help to attract buyers for the club.
Vale, now third in the League Two table, set the seal on their encouraging start to the campaign with a 6-2 thumping of promotion favourites Rotherham on Saturday, and Young insists good news on the field can only lead to even better news off it.
"It has been a great start and I'm certain such form makes the whole club a more attractive proposition," he said.

"Anyone looking into the possibility of buying it can see the potential.
"They'll be looking at results and thinking they wouldn't have to turn the whole club around.
"The form of the team won't affect the price at all, but if people can see that the team has the ability to succeed anyway, then it's a much more alluring package."
Six parties have declared an interest in buying the club following Lancashire businessman Keith Ryder's failure to complete his £1.3m deal.
Three are still undertaking due diligence work and Young said there had been no further developments.
"We are still talking to several interested parties, but there is nothing new to report," he said.
Young has been impressed by the response of supporters during the first few weeks of the season.
"The supporters' club were particularly helpful in getting the ground ready before the start of the season and, since then, the fans have been backing the team," he added.
"We are breaking even at the moment and that's what we set out to do.
"It's great that the team is doing so well and that can only help attendances."
PORT Vale have won the League Two Performance of the Week award for their 6-2 demolition of Rotherham.
Boss Micky Adams will be presented with an engraved crystal football to mark the honour after a League Managers' Association panel comprising of Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry voted for the Valiants.

“I think Bob Young is doing a good job. It's not that easy to sell on a football club that has been in administration twice in recent times, and I think Young has come in for some unfair criticism.
It isn't Bob Young's fault that Keith Ryder hasn't completed, although that particular situation was maybe allowed to continue for a little too long.
So let's hope that one or more of the interested parties are truly serious about buying the club and that we can move onward and upward.”

“Algy,
Its understandable why its difficult but try to stay your normal positive self.
I think the story makes it claer that they really are prospective buyers when it says "Three are still undertaking due diligence work" because that takes time and costs proffessional fees to do right.
If they had just been talking hot air then I would agree with you but if they are spending serious money and not doing the mouthing off in the media bit then they seem to be serious.
Anyway from what I've seen of Mr Young he wouldnt give space to any time wasters.
We will all get there if we just hang in and keep supporting the club.”

“Don't get me wrong but, after reading Bob Young's article above, and his article the other day, I get the distinct impression that the interested parties are exactly all they are, "interested parties", and not prospective buyers: and he could announce very soon that he will re-advrtise the club again in the national press. If this is so then things are bleak indeed.
Like I said, don't get me wrong, I hope I AM wrong, but how he worded the articles, especally the one the other day, has planted a seed of doubt in my mind.
But as far as the Vale concerned, I am normally the eternal optimist and I go to the newsagent every morning expecting to see headlines in the "Sentinel", that the club has been bought, and are now out of administration. I do KEEP THE FAITH.”

“Last Saturday, me and my brothers in the SEO and Band G community cheered Vale to the rafters as they annihilated the big spending pre-season favourites for promotion. But the irony was not lost on me that we were sitting in Bill Bratt's unfinished stadium, chanting the name of The Jackson 5's manager and roaring on the squad financed by MOLD (with sadly no help from SEO).
We've got a smaller and weaker squad than we had when we beat Stockport 5-0 away to go top of the league - so have me and my pals been wasting our time for the last 3 seasons and should we have just got behind the team and left it to the shareholders?
I just feel dirty. Used. I'm re-watching my old Vale videos to try and re-programme myself, to cleanse myself of the negativity that has been gnawing into my soul over the last few seasons.”

“Come on Bob, give the crystal football a rub and make a sound buyer for the club appear.”

“More armchair experts spouting off.
The future of the club now depends on Mr Young and co doing there job well, and I think they are doing it well.
It must be a very hard job selling a business as big and complicated as a League football club and it needs all the fans to stop criticsing and pretending be expert about stuff they really dont understand and start supporting the club through the gate in bigger numbers, same as the core 4,800 fans are already doing.”
