DODDS: Spurned a good chance early on and, for all his hard work, the attack-minded winger struggled to make an impact 5

GRIFFITH: Not as dominant as in recent weeks and months, but his passion was there for all to see 6

R TAYLOR: A tough assignment for the recalled winger who was starved of quality possession in the final third. Missed a good chance just before the break 5

RICHARDS: Never had a sniff in front of goal, but covered so much ground to try to tip balance in Vale's favour 7

DAVIES: Never gave up the ghost, despite a lack of service. On another day, may have scored and earned his side a penalty 6
