MARTIN: Untroubled in the first half, but made some important saves when called upon after the interval 7

TOOTLE: Played his part in a solid rearguard 7

DAVIS: Commanding performance at heart of defence 7

ELLIS: Another strong performance. Little got past him 7

MURPHY: Led by example in midfield and produced some telling passes 8

MELLOR: Had a solid game at full-back, but was caught out once or twice when Rovers applied pressure 6

OSMAN: Excellent performance in midfield after shaking off a head injury following an accidental clash with Jones 8

ANEKE: Another impressive performance by the on-loan youngster and provided a brilliant pass for the first goal 8

POGBA: Always a handful for the Rovers' defence, and thundered in to score the vital second goal 8

MOORE: Had a powerful first-half shot saved, but was otherwise quiet 6

DALLA VALLE: Super start with a goal on his debut and always looking to shoot on sight 7

“The problem is that no-one posts any comments on the Crewe
forum, so now there are are at least 3 posts here.
Well, it seems the referees have got it in for the Vale
in recent games but Morsy has let the team down and
its a shame that Pope picked up another booking.
It's getting harder to pick a best team each week, with
    injuries and suspensions.”

“Could someone at the Sentinel please have a word with the, so called "Sports editor", and ask him what on earth he is playing at !!!
He gives a headline refering to the Vale game against Rochdale, then displays a report about Crewe Alex. YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP !.
Very amatuer. No wonder this rag is held to ridicule.”
