PORT Vale will be boosted by the return of centre-back Gareth Owen when they visit Stafford Rangers in the Staffordshire Senior Cup semi-final tonight (7.45pm).

Boss Dean Glover has delivered on his promise to take a strong squad to Marston Road where Owen will step up his recovery from ankle ligament damage.

It was feared Owen would be sidelined for up to six weeks after picking up the injury in the 1-0 home defeat by Dagenham on March 10.

However, he has responded well to treatment and will make his first start in four weeks.

Also included in the starting line-up is striker Kyle Perry, who returned from a one-month loan spell with Blue Square Premier strugglers Northwich Victoria on Monday.

Glover's starting line-up also includes regular first-team squad members Anthony Griffith, Simon Richman, Steve Thompson and Anthony Griffith.

Port Vale: Lloyd-Weston, Griffith, Bell, D Edwards, Owen, Davidson, Malbon, Richman, Glover, Perry, Thompson. Subs: Beeston, Morsy, Dixon, Share, Osei-Siribour.
